Fans of HBO’s historical drama series Rome have reason to rejoice, it seems news of a much talked about upcoming movie have just been confirmed by Ray Stevenson, who played Titus Pullo, during an exclusive interview with Movieweb.
The series ran for two consecutive seasons but before anyone could wish for a third, it was cancelled in the middle of the second, cutting short the storyline and leaving disappointed fans worldwide. The creator, Bruno Heller, says that he now has an opportunity to wrap up any loose ends. Despite receiving several Emmy awards, it was no wonder the network couldn’t think of doing any more seasons, as the show’s production costs for the first season alone were estimated at around 100 million dollars.
There’s still no date set for the start of production, it could start in a year’s time or take only six months, according to Ray Stevenson. But we’re glad it’s no longer a rumour and there’s still enough time for us to play catch up!

I haven’t even seen the 1st season and had no idea it was cancelled in the middle of the 2nd… Maybe the movie is a chance!
This is great news! I saw the first 3 episodes of season 1 and I really enjoyed it.
Oh, I love Rome! This is great news!
