Summer time approaches and the sun and the beach keep us a bit away from the computer! That’s why we didn’t have a monthly discussion in June but now we’re planning to make up for it in July discussing the recent BBC drama Cranford . Cranford is a five part drama based in Elizabeth Gaskell’s novel Cranford, novella’s My Lady Ludlow and Mr Harrison’s Confessions, and the article The Last Generation in England.
Our first discussion on the blog was also an Elizabeth Gaskell adaptation – North and South – and we did love that story very much so the expectations are high for Cranford. Join us in our discussion from July 15th onward…
You are going to torment by having this discussion! I really want to see it. I may have to break down and buy it! I have heard such good things about this adaptation!

I’m really looking forward to this discussion because I enjoyed the series (must try and fit in another viewing before the discussion starts) and would like to see how the books were combined from those of you here who have read the books!
I started reading Cranford but didn’t get far in to it before I took the opportunity to watch the series – now I’m not sure how it would be going from the series mix of books to reading them separately (have I explained that clearly?!!!)

Adorei o N&S e resolvi começar a comprar as versões originais dos Austens que não tinha, não conhecia ou ainda não tinha visto.
Continuem com as vossas recomendações (só Dickens é que eu não gosto muito mas ’se forem por aí’ eu também vou atrás)
A minha carteira é que não gosta lá muito de ver estes novos items (dvds) a aumentar na minha lista TBB (to be bought)… como se já não lhe bastassem os livros!
