
One of NBC’s new series is based in Daniel Defoe’s Robinson Crusoe. The cast of stars includes Sean Bean, Sam Neill and Phillip Winchester as Crusoe. The series will focus not only on Crusoe’s life in his deserted island but also in his past and his relationship with his father and the woman he loves. It’s been announced as a new take on a well known story and it will be divided in 13 episodes. Filming starts next month in the UK, South Africa and the Seychelles.

Three known stars will be dividing the public’s attention in the upcoming movie King Lear: Keira Knightley will be Cordelia and Gwyneth Paltrow will be Regan while Anthony Hopkins will play King Lear. Yet to be announced is the name of the actress who will be playing Goneril, the King’s oldest daughter. The announcement came during the Cannes Film Festival which was fertile in period movies news, two adaptations based on well known books are also in the works – Oscar Wilde’s The Portrait of Dorian Gray and Phillipa Gregory’s The Boleyn Inheritance.
